Reports

JIRA provides extensive reporting features to allow project managers and team members to track project progress and identify areas that need improvement. The Reports feature can be found by selecting the Reports icon in the sidebar of any project.

Types of Reports

There are several types of reports available in JIRA. Some of the commonly-used reports are:

  • Burndown Chart - used to track sprint progress and overall project progress
  • Cumulative Flow Diagram - used to track the status of work items over time
  • Control Chart - used to track the stability of a process
  • Version Report - used to track the progress of a version or release
  • Issue Distribution Report - used to track the distribution of issues by priority, status, or assignee

Generating Reports

To generate a report, select the type of report you want to generate from the Reports menu. You can then configure the report by selecting the project or filter you want to report on, and setting any additional parameters specific to the report.

Custom Reports

JIRA also allows you to create custom reports using the JIRA Query Language (JQL) and any additional reporting plugins you have installed.

Exporting Reports

Once a report has been generated, you can export it to a variety of formats including CSV, Excel, or PDF. You can also print the report directly from JIRA.

Benefits of Reports

  • Provides a clear picture of the project progress to stakeholders
  • Helps in identifying bottlenecks and problem areas early on
  • Helps in making data-driven decisions for project management
